The 6th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas took place in New Delhi, Delhi, from January 7 to 9, 2008. The theme of the 2008 Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was “Engaging the Diaspora: The Way Forward.” This year’s focus was on “Redefining engagement with the Indian diaspora.”

India’s diaspora’s involvement The relationship’s threads can be strengthened further on both sides in order to forge a strong bond of active exchange. To maximise their potential and advantages, India and its diaspora can both actively capitalise on their shared heritage and “Indianness.” The two parties must actively interact and communicate with each other in order for the two-way process to be successful. Such a conversation between India and its diaspora is advantageous for all parties involved and has ramifications for the entire world. This process is meant to be strengthened by the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2008’s theme, “Engaging the Diaspora: The Way Forward.” The two parties’ involvement in this remarkable partnership will be strengthened and solidified during the sixth instalment of the series, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2008.
