It wasn’t designed as a language learning platform, but it’s an excellent and reliable resource for language learning. You can immerse yourself in the target language of your choice and learn about its history and other unique properties. Alternatively, you can focus on categories such as numbers, silly phrases, tongue twisters, and other appropriate groupings.
Even better, the site is a dynamic resource, offering a variety of useful phrases in over 300 languages. Omniglot founder Simon Ager runs the site himself and puts a lot of effort into the Omniglot blog. It covers a variety of topics related to language, especially word origins. Also check out the Radio Omniglot podcast. He discusses various language-related topics.
