batter’s call for a run. See No, Push, Two, Wait.
(The) Yips
Bowlers who are losing confidence may experience the yips on occasion. A psychological condition in which the bowler is unable to relax sufficiently when delivering the ball, frequently holding the ball too long before release, resulting in loss of flight, turn, and accuracy. Bowlers have been known to experience the yips for as little as a few overs to an entire season or more.
Yorker
a (usually fast) delivery made very close to the batter. The goal is for it to pitch in the block hole directly underneath their bat or on their toes. A perfectly pitched fast yorker is extremely difficult to play; however, a poorly delivered yorker can result in a half-volley (too short) or a full toss (too full).
