Hanuman Jayanti is a Hindu religious festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Hanuman, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. It falls on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra.
Lord Hanuman is known for his unwavering devotion to Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and for his exceptional strength, courage, and loyalty. Hanuman is considered a symbol of devotion, strength, and perseverance.
On Hanuman Jayanti, devotees observe fasts, visit temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman, chant prayers and hymns, and participate in various religious activities. Many devotees also recite the Hanuman Chalisa, a devotional hymn dedicated to Lord Hanuman composed by the saint Tulsidas.
