Detailed Information

Nateshvarkala is a Bharata Natyam dance school led by Helena Magisson in Kenmore Hills since 2013.
Helena started learning Bharata Natyam in France, her home country, and has followed intensive training in India with prominent masters as Urmila Satyanarayanan and Jamuna Krishna.
She lived in Mumbai for 3 years and continued her practice with Neeta Kamath, who taught her the subtleties of Abhinaya and the complexity of the rhythms in Bharata Natyam dance. In 2008, Helena completed her Arangetram (a two hours solo performance) at Tejpal Auditorium in Mumbai and started to perform at various festivals in India.
When she settled down in Australia, she had the great pleasure to start teaching this fascinating art form to students from different Indian communities in Brisbane. She believes that every student has unique qualities that she tries to highlight and develop, to reveal the best of each of them.
