In a story that has sparked wide discussion online, an Indian-origin CEO shared his amazement at his co-founder’s extraordinary commitment—flying halfway across the world for a marathon over the weekend and returning directly to work on Monday morning.
The incident came to light after entrepreneur Kocalar tweeted about his whirlwind trip to Morocco.
“I flew to Morocco for 36 hours over the weekend to run the Marrakech Marathon and then come right back to the office. Founder definition of fun,” he wrote.
The post quickly gained traction, prompting Kaushik, an Indian-origin CEO, to share a deeper account of the incident and praise his co-founder’s determination.
“Meet the single craziest and most determined person I’ve worked with,” Kaushik wrote in a LinkedIn post. He recalled noticing an unusual “Out of Office” entry on his co-founder Selin’s calendar—something that rarely happened.
When asked about it, Selin explained her plan:
“On Friday, I’m flying 16 hours to Morocco, running a marathon in the morning, and then flying back to San Francisco the same night.”
True to her word, Selin returned from the grueling trip and showed up at the office on Monday—still carrying her suitcase.
Kaushik went on to reflect on the mindset behind such actions.
“Sometimes in life, you have to take risks and say ‘why not.’ This attitude is rare, but embodying it through impromptu-marathon-level action is different.”
He concluded by thanking Selin for inspiring both him and the rest of the Delve team every day, calling it an honor to work alongside someone with such relentless drive.
While many social media users praised the dedication and passion behind the story, others offered mixed reactions, debating whether such extreme hustle should be celebrated or questioned. Regardless, the episode has ignited conversations around work culture, ambition, and the balance between personal challenges and professional commitment.
