PM Modi to Embark on Five-Nation Tour Covering UAE and Four European Countries This Week

New Delhi, May 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin a six-day diplomatic tour this week, visiting the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and four European nations — the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy — as India seeks to strengthen bilateral ties amid ongoing global geopolitical challenges.

Modi’s first stop will be the UAE, where he is scheduled to meet President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The discussions are expected to focus on advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and exchanging views on regional developments, particularly the situation in West Asia.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the two leaders will also discuss bilateral issues, including energy cooperation, trade, investment, and other matters of mutual interest at regional and international levels.

Following the UAE visit, the Prime Minister will travel to the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy, where discussions are expected to center on enhancing cooperation in trade, technology, defense, green energy, and strategic partnerships.

Officials said the visit is aimed at reinforcing India’s diplomatic outreach and expanding collaboration with key partners in Europe and West Asia.

This will mark PM Modi’s second visit to the Netherlands, following his previous official trip, and is expected to further strengthen economic and strategic relations between the two nations.

The multi-nation tour comes at a time of significant geopolitical shifts, highlighting India’s efforts to deepen international partnerships and play a more active global diplomatic role.
