India has once again demonstrated its scientific excellence on the global stage by delivering a remarkable performance at the International Chemistry and Biology Olympiads 2026, bringing home five Gold medals and three Silver medals. 🥇 Historic Performance at the International Chemistry Olympiad
At the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2026, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Indian team scripted history by winning four Gold medals—the country’s best-ever performance in its 27 years of participation in the prestigious competition.
The four Gold medal winners are:
- Debadatta Priyadarshi – Bhubaneswar
- Harshit Singhal – Mandi Gobindgarh
- Kabeer Chhillar – Delhi
- Sandeep Kuchi – Hyderabad
The competition featured 363 students from 93 countries, making India’s clean sweep of Gold medals an extraordinary accomplishment.
Adding to the significance of the victory, Debadatta Priyadarshi and Sandeep Kuchi continued their winning streak after earning medals at the 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad in Dubai. Their consistent excellence highlights India’s growing strength in international science competitions.
🧬 Success at the International Biology Olympiad
India also excelled at the International Biology Olympiad, securing one Gold medal and three Silver medals. Together with the Chemistry Olympiad results, the nation finished with an impressive tally of five Gold and three Silver medals, marking another milestone for Indian students in global academic competitions.
