Amar Chitra Katha means “immortal illustration stories,” and as the name recommends, these comics feature India’s own immortal heroes – its mythological deity and historical head– as their protagonists. The comic sequence was started by Anant Pai in an attempt to teach Indian children about their lifestyle heritage.
