The construction of the temple complex was initiated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the spiritual leader of BAPS, and it was officially opened to the public in 2005. The temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, the central deity of the Swaminarayan Sampradaya.
