Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences is a budding Medical College started by Government
of Karnataka in the historical city of Gadag. Gadag city is known for Kumara Vyasa and
also for the historical temples of Trikuteshwara and Veera Narayana. Lakkundi, the city
of 100 temples is situated near to the Gadag city. Gadag is one of the richest bio-diversity
areas in the country. The campus of Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences is surrounded
by attractive valley, mountains and hilly terrains popularly known as Kappatgudda.
The city is situated in the north part of Karnataka on the National Highway No. 63
(Ankola – Hubli – Hospet – Bellary – Guntakal – Gooty). Gadag is well connected by Air,
Train and Roadways and is 60 km from the Hubli city. Famous historical places like
Pattadkal, Badami, Ihole, Hampi are situated within the 150 km radius. Famous world
heritage centres/ monuments are situated here.
