In the year 1970, out of sheer love for the language Tamil, a few families from the area, got together and formed the Harrisburg Area Tamil Sangam – HATS. HATS was conceived with the goal of making our youth aware of and sharing the knowledge on the beauty of the classical language, its ethnicity, culture and art. Through the years, HATS has continued to recognize and value this goal and is very supportive of the HARI Tamil School which has been doing an impeccable job of teaching Tamil and its legacy to the younger generations.
