Asia Cup 2025

Tue, September 9, 2025 - Sun, September 28, 2025 (12:00 am - 11:45 pm)
United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Description

The Asia Cup 2025 is set to take place from September 9 to 28, 2025, and will be hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the official host, political tensions between India and Pakistan have led to the decision to stage the tournament at neutral venues — most likely across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. This edition of the Asia Cup will follow the T20 International (T20I) format and feature eight teams, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. The tournament structure divides teams into two groups — Group A (India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman) and Group B (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong). Each group will compete in a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the Super Four stage, leading up to the final.

One of the major highlights of the tournament is the much-anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled for September 14 in the group stage. If both teams qualify further, they could meet again in the Super Four (likely on September 21) and potentially in the final on September 28, creating the thrilling possibility of three India–Pakistan matches in a single tournament. This Asia Cup serves as a key build-up to the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, and the excitement is already palpable among cricket fans. Final details regarding match timings, venues, and ticketing are expected to be announced soon.
