Navaratri – Day 9 – Siddidatri
Description
The ninth day is the culmination of Navaratri, devoted to Maa Siddhidātri — the giver of siddhis (spiritual powers, supernatural attainments) and wisdom. She embodies completeness and perfection.
On this day, people perform prayers asking for spiritual fulfillment, removal of ignorance, success, and blessings in all spheres of life. Offerings include lotus, chants, and aarti; often Kanya Puja (worship of young girls) is also performed as a sign of devotion.
The colour for Siddhidātri’s day is purple, symbolizing dignity, ambition, power, and spiritual richness.
