Description

Saraswati Puja, named after the Hindu goddess Saraswati, marks the preparation for spring with Vasant Panchami. Depending on the region, Indian religions celebrate the festival differently. It also marks the beginning of the preparations for Holika and Holi, which will take place forty days later. As any season’s transition period lasts 40 days, the Vasant Utsava (festival) on Panchami is celebrated forty days before spring begins.
