Ganapathi Homam - Shuklaambara Dharam

Ganapathi Homam - Shuklaambara Dharam

Shuklaambara Dharam is one of the 32 forms of Lord Ganesha and is also the first form of the Atharvashirsha Ganapathi Homam. The word “Shuklaambara Dharam” translates to “clad in white robes.” This form of Lord Ganesha is depicted as having a white complexion and is often shown wearing white clothes. The significance of the white color is purity, clarity, and serenity.

In the Shuklaambara Dharam form, Lord Ganesha is worshipped for success, prosperity, and the removal of obstacles. It is believed that worshipping this form of Lord Ganesha can help in achieving inner peace, clarity of thought, and purity of mind.

The mantra for Shuklaambara Dharam :

“Shuklaambara Dharam Vishnum Shashi Varnam Chaturbhujam Prasanna Vadanam Dhyaayet Sarva Vighna Upashaantaye”

Meaning: I meditate on Lord Ganesha, who is clad in white robes, has a moon-like complexion, and four arms. May he remove all obstacles and bestow his blessings upon us.

This mantra is chanted during the Ganapathi Homam while offering ghee and other materials to the sacred fire. The Homam is performed with the guidance of a trained priest and by following the correct procedures and chants.
