What is the procedure for bidding on Google Ads?

Your ad rank (Maximum Bid times Quality Score) determines your ad’s actual position. The ad with the highest rank is placed first. The ad rank of the next highest ad below you divided by your Quality Score will determine your actual CPC. The only exception to this rule is if you are the only bidder or have the lowest bid in the Google Ads auction; in that case, you pay your maximum bid per click! Advertisers who bid with low quality scores are heavily penalised in AdWords bidding. Those with high Quality Scores, on the other hand, receive higher ad ranks and lower CPC.
