The Hockey India League (HIL) is India’s professional field hockey league. Founded in 2013 and  organized by Hockey India. The league consists of his six teams representing different cities in India and runs from January to February every year. HIL follows a round-robin format, followed by playoffs and finals to determine the winning team.  HIL has helped  popularize the sport of field hockey in India and attract top international players to the league. It  also helps develop and nurture young  hockey talent in India. The league has received a great deal of corporate support  and has contributed to the growth of the sport in India.  HIL has been well received by fans and has been credited with reviving the sport of his hockey on the field  in India.
