There are a number of Buddhist morality stories in the Jataka tales in which the Buddha recounts some of his past lives on the road to enlightenment. It’s important to note that while they are part of the Pali Canon (the Buddhist equivalent of the Bible) and contain words attributed to Buddha himself, they are more folktales than religious texts.
