Kebabs Recipe

Ingredients:
For the Marinade:
- 1.5 pounds (700g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or your preferred protein
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to your spice preference)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Juice of 1 lemon
For the Kebabs:
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning
- Bell peppers, onions, and cherry tomatoes (optional, for skewering with the chicken)
Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, cumin, paprika, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well.
Marinate the Chicken:
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for the best flavor.
Skewer the Kebabs:
- If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers. If you like, you can alternate the chicken with pieces of bell peppers, onions, and cherry tomatoes.
Cook the Kebabs:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or use a grill pan on the stovetop.
- Lightly oil the grill grates or grill pan to prevent sticking.
- Place the chicken skewers on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of your chicken pieces and the heat of your grill.
Serve:
- Remove the chicken kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve hot with your favorite accompaniments like pita bread, rice, or a salad. You can also drizzle some extra lemon juice over the top for added flavor.
