Singapore is a sovereign city-state and island country located in Southeast Asia. It is located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, between Malaysia to the north and Indonesia to the south.

Singapore is made up of one main island, which is called Singapore Island or Pulau Ujong in Malay, and about 60 smaller islands. The country has a total land area of approximately 728.3 square kilometers (281.2 square miles), making it one of the smallest countries in the world.
