National Bird
The peacock is our national bird. A bird is indigenous to the subcontinent. It exemplifies the unity of vivid colours and findsreferences in Indian culture. The government of India declared the peacock the national bird of India on February 1, 1963. Hindus consider this peacock to be sacred because the god Kartikeya rides on its back.
