About 8,000 delegates from 30 nations participated in PBD 2017.

The Youth PBD-2017 was observed on January 7, the first day of the convention.

160 young people of Indian descent visited as part of four of our “Know India” programs, 250 graduate and postgraduate students from the National Service Scheme, and 200 students from Bengaluru College participated in the Youth PBD.
The PBD Convention was launched by the Honorable Prime Minister on January 8.
On this occasion, Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PKVY) was also introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Thirty NRIs and organizations received the “Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award – 2017” from President Pranab Mukherjee on January 9.
PBD is commemorated annually on January 9 to mark the date that Mahatma Gandhi returned to India as a Pravasi from South Africa on that same day in 1915.
