Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards 2010

  • This year’s Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention will be held in New Delhi. PBD 2010 will also see the launch of an annual lecture series themed ‘India and its Diaspora: Everlasting Bonds of Togetherness’. Pravasi Bharatiyas attended in large numbers.
  • The 16th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention was entirely run online on January 9, 2021, due to the ongoing Covid pandemic.
  • The first Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was held in New Delhi in 2003.
  • The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conventions have been held annually since 2003, and the PBSA is the highest honor given to Indians living abroad.
  • It is given to non-resident Indians (NRIs), people of Indian origin (PIOs), or organizations or institutions founded and managed by NRIs or PIOs in honor of their exceptional accomplishments both domestically and internationally. 
  • A gold medallion, a citation, a small version of the medallion in the form of a lapel pin, and a bilingual Sanad (certificate) are all included in the award.
