Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards 2012

On 7–9 January 2012, Pravasi Bhartiya Divas was held. The event was held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Pravasi Bhartiya Samman 2012 award was given to 14 eminent personalities and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce for their excellent accomplishments abroad.
The first Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was held in New Delhi in 2003.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conventions have been held annually since 2003, and the PBSA is the highest honor given to Indians living abroad.
It is given to non-resident Indians (NRIs), people of Indian origin (PIOs), or organizations or institutions founded and managed by NRIs or PIOs in honor of their exceptional accomplishments both domestically and internationally.
A gold medallion, a citation, a small version of the medallion in the form of a lapel pin, and a bilingual Sanad (certificate) are all included in the award.
