Rolled Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups softened butter
  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • all-purpose flour, 5 cups
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • In a big bowl, use an electric mixer to smoothly combine butter and sugar. eggs and vanilla after mixing. Add the salt, baking soda, and flour. Dough should be covered and chilled for at least one hour or overnight.
  • The oven should be preheated to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Sprinkle some flour on the work surface. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Use any cookie cutter to cut shapes. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets 1 inch apart.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes, or until they are lightly browned. Transferring cookies to a wire rack requires caution. Let them cool completely before decorating.
