Santoshimata Vratam
Santoshi Mata Vrat is another Hindu religious observance dedicated to the worship of Goddess Santoshi, the embodiment of satisfaction and contentment. This vrat (fasting) is usually performed on Fridays, and it involves special prayers, rituals, and a fast to seek the blessings of Santoshi Mata.
Devotees believe that observing this vrat brings happiness, peace, and prosperity into their lives. The vrat typically includes the following:
Fasting: Devotees fast from sunrise to sunset on Fridays, refraining from consuming certain food items. Some people observe a complete fast, while others consume specific fruits and milk.
Puja (worship): A special puja is performed to honor Santoshi Mata. This involves decorating the idol or image of the goddess, offering fruits, gram (chana), and sugar, and reciting prayers and hymns dedicated to Santoshi Mata.
Storytelling: Devotees often listen to or narrate stories related to Santoshi Mata, emphasizing faith, patience, and the goddess’s ability to fulfill the wishes of her devotees.
Distribution of Prasad: After the puja, devotees distribute the blessed food (prasad) to family members and friends.
