  • MSc Degree:

A lot of students prefer doing an M.A degree before taking up MSc rather than directly hopping into MSc after their Bachelor’s degree. This degree is for those who want to take up a Ph.D. in the future to become qualified professors. The duration is usually around 2 years. 

  • MRes Degree:

Master of Research(MRE’s Degree) is for those who are keen researching part of the subject and it lets the student emphasize on that respective research. The duration of the course is about 1-2 years.

  • M.Phil. Degree:

Master of Philosophy or M.Phil. is quite similar to the Ph.D. program, it focuses on practical knowledge on the subject. It lasts for around 2 years.

  • Postgraduate Diploma:

Postgraduate Diploma or PGDip / PgDip / PG Dip. / PGD / PgD / PDE is awarded after completion of a bachelor’s degree in some countries. It is a shorter qualification than a master’s degree although they’re at the same academic levels. It lasts for about a year.
