The Temporary Work visa (subclass 482) is a temporary visa for skilled workers who are sponsored by an Australian employer to work in Australia.

Eligibility criteria for this visa include:

• Being sponsored by an approved Australian employer
• Holding a nominated skilled occupation that is in demand in Australia
• Meeting the required skills and qualifications for the nominated occupation
• Having a suitable level of English language proficiency
• A good character and no health or security concerns

This visa is applied for by the sponsoring employer and allows the holder to live and work in Australia for the duration of their sponsorship, up to a maximum of four years. The visa may be renewed, subject to ongoing eligibility criteria. Note that the holder of this visa is tied to their sponsoring employer and may not work for another employer without prior approval.
