UK PM Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murthy Partake in Prayers at Akshardham Temple in Delhi

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty, visited Delhi, with Sunak offering prayers at Akshardham Temple on Sunday. He later joined world leaders at Rajghat.

Stringent security measures were in place ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to the temple.

Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Sunak expressed his intention to visit the temple during his stay in India and his respect for PM Modi’s leadership at the G20 Summit.

Sunak, a proud Hindu, expressed his hope to visit a Mandir in India, citing the significance of faith during challenging times.

Preparations were in full swing at Akshardham Temple to welcome the UK Prime Minister and his wife.

This marks Sunak’s first visit to India as Prime Minister, highlighting the strong historical and cultural ties between India and the UK, elevated to a Strategic Partnership in 2004.
