Usha earned a History degree from Yale University and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge as a Gates Scholar. She also held editorial positions at Yale’s Journal of Law & Technology and the Yale Law Journal. Usha met JD at Yale Law School, and they married in 2014, blending a traditional Hindu ceremony with their wedding. Together, they have three children. Usha played a key role in JD’s political career, supporting him throughout his Ohio Senate campaign and contributing to his memoir Hillbilly Elegy, which was adapted into a film.
Currently a corporate litigator in San Francisco, Usha has also clerked for US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
